Brass Hanging Astrolabe Wall Decor

This hand cast brass astrolabe captures the intricate geometry of one of history's most sophisticated astronomical instruments. The flat, circular design displays the characteristic rotating components and calibrated markings that made astrolabes essential tools for medieval navigation and celestial observation. Rendered in warm brass with fine casting detail, it hangs as both a functional reference and a striking wall sculpture that draws the eye with its layered, mechanical beauty.

The piece presents as a substantial wall hanging, substantial enough to command attention without overwhelming a space. Its shallow depth means it works on narrow walls or between other pieces, while the brass naturally patinas over time, deepening the contrast between raised edges and recessed detail.
